Overview
Guards[]
Wasteland Guards, also known as Legion Wastelanders were neutral Guards in Fortnite: Battle Royale. They were introduced in Chapter 5: Season 3.
Description
Description[]
Wasteland Guards are distinguished by Class and Rank. This determines what weapons they hold and what roles they play.
- Grunts
- Wasteland Grunts are normal Guards that can be found in
Wasteland Warriors controlled POIs or War Bus Convoys and will only shoot at the player if they either attack them, one of their Bosses or their vehicles, they get on the War Bus, they block their path for too long, or they aim their weapon at them for too long. Additionally, they will rally towards a Wasteland Warrior Boss if they are under attack.

- Elites
- Wasteland Elites are slightly stronger Wasteland Guards that normally appear as a Commanding Officer to the Grunts. As such they appear in very few quantities at either Named Locations, War Bus Patrol Convoys with one driving the bus itself and a Whiplash with a Wasteland Grunt if not following a Wasteland Warrior Boss, and in Forecast Towers. With the Tactical Elites posing as Mini-Bosses at said Forecast Towers. They will also rally towards a Wasteland Warrior Boss if they are under attack.

Trivia
Trivia[]
- Just like the Minions, the Wasteland Guards use the same base model as the Society Guards. Fitted with unique blue checkered masks as the Grunts, and Dieselpunk Gas Masks flowing with Nitro as the Elites.
- Much like the Society Guards they also fill both roles of Guards and Bosses, but in a manner similar to the Minions.
- The Wasteland Guards are the first Legion Guard derivatives to not reuse the same voice samples from the Heavy Marauders and IO Guards.
- Though like the Society Guards they can be heard communicating to each other in their Idle voice lines with Walkie Talkies.
- The Epic TBD Outfits used for both Wasteland Tactical and Heavy Guards that are only available on developer accounts show that they both have alternate styles. The Default style is used for the Wasteland Grunts while the Fuel style is used for the Wasteland Elites.
- The Wasteland Tactical Guard's Outfit ID is Character_FuryAngel_NPC.
- The Wasteland Heavy Guard's Outfit ID is Character_FuryNyx_NPC.
- The Wasteland Guards are the first Guards in Battle Royale that can be aggro'd by simply blocking their patrol path and by aiming a weapon at them.
- Like their Bosses the Wasteland Guards have dialogue for these events, however they end up going unused.
- Because the Forecast Tower Wasteland Tactical Elites are regarded as Bosses, they are also slightly taller. This is not the case for the other Tactical Elites in Named Locations or in War Bus Convoys who still have the same height as players and Guards.
- They will also grant the Who's the Boss? Elimination Accolade when eliminated.
- Though they are not traditional Bosses, the Wasteland Tactical Elites have the longest Boss name out of all the Bosses in Battle Royale. Beating out Doctor Victor Von Doom who previously held this record nearly four years before Chapter 5: Season 3.
