While the Battle Bus is out of commission, you'll Storm Surf your way to the Island instead!
C7:S1 Blog

Storm Surfing was a Gameplay Mechanic in Fortnite that was introduced in Chapter 7: Season 1. It was the replacement for the Battle Bus until it was repaired.

Functionality

Functionality[]

At the start of the match, there is a 20% chance players will surf to the Island instead of boarding the Battle Bus.

Storm Surfing functions identically to the Battle Bus, except all players will be positioned in a predetermined location in the ocean and begin approaching the Island by surfing the wave created by the Storm. Players can freely move around the wave after a short period, allowing them to change the location they'll get hangtime from. Once hangtime begins, players launch in the air and deploy their gliders.

  • Storm Surfing has an icon in the style of Rift Anomalies, despite never being introduced as one.
