Lists of Glitches[]
Mantle Jump[]
When mantling, it is possible to spring up high in the air instead of climbing to the higher platform. Worst cases of this glitch involve being eliminated/knocked from fall damage. This most likely happens with a poor internet connection and high Ping.
Clipping under the ground[]
When riding a Vehicle, If the player's PC or console failed to load the ground in time, it may clip under the ground after landing. It is more likely to happen if the Vehicle is going at a very high speed.
Loot Shark Vehicle launch[]
If a Loot Shark bites a Vehicle, there is a chance that the Vehicle and the Shark will be sent flying high in the air and way outside of the Battle Royale island.
Bright lights around player model[]
In Fortnite: Creative, there are some Outfits (such as Polar Peely) that when interacting with a Damage Amplifier or Visual Effect devices, the character model will be surrounded with very bright lights instead of the usual glow.
Rocket Riding[]
This glitch is the oldest and the most popular. It involves jumping on a rocket fired from a Rocket Launcher (or any other Explosive Weapon) by another player (usually a teammate). This is normally done in order to travel distances or to have high ground over enemies. The Loading Screen Rocket Ride is a tribute to the glitch.
Unswimmable Water[]
Many water props (usually a block of water) in Fortnite have broken collision making them unswimmable and sometimes even breakable with pickaxes and weapons. Touching the water can result in either, player's screen turns into a mess or player will clip through ground. These water props can also sometimes stop projectile from certain weapons from moving.
Broken block of water props can be found in many prefabs of Fortnite: Creative. It is recommended to use Water (Device), or Water Body instead of Water Props.
In Day of Doom LTM, if an Arcane Artifact somehow landed in a water prop such as Restored Reels' pool, it will become stuck and unpickable. It won't even respawn, an instant guarantee loss for Doom Henchmen's team.
Enter mission with empty inventory[]
In Fortnite: Save the World, sometimes when entering a mission the player will have an empty inventory (no materials, weapons, etc.) despite having items before. The player also cannot build. There is no fix to this issue as it is related to the connection to the server. Workaround is to simply exit the mission and reconnect.
Random disconnect from mission[]
In Save the World, the player may disconnect from the mission unexpectedly with the error "Network Connection Lost" despite having a stable connection. According to Epic Games, this is mostly triggered when the player's Backpack is nearly full.[1]
Patched but Notable
Patched but Notable[]
Health Bar glitch[]
In Update v21.40 there was a glitch with the Heath and Shield meter where if a player takes damage, the bar may not match with the numerical value. As the bar is more noticeable than the number, this misleads players affecting their decision to fight or heal. This was patched in Update v21.50.
Off-Road Tires glitch[]
Introduced in Update v19.20, there was a glitch where throwing Vehicle Mod: Off-Road Tires at props, it would throw them away no matter what it's thrown onto. This glitch also worked on the Mighty Monument statue, and was abused by many players to cause a lot of lag. This was fixed a day after the update. This glitch was immortalized when stacks of Vehicle Mod: Off-Road Tires can be found around Mighty Monument.
Obtain Alien Knockgun Launcher[]
It was possible to use the Alien Knockgun Launcher outside of The Experiment when playing in team based modes. It will not deal damage and its knock back ability will not grant a low-gravity effect. In response to this glitch, Abductors were disabled on August 14th 2021 and lasted 10 days.
Sand Tunneling[]
At the beginning of Chapter 2: Season 5, Sand Tunneling was introduced. This mechanic was buggy and was disabled as it caused a player's viewpoint to be de-synced with their actual location, meaning that throwing items or shooting came from an area different to the location of the character model. It can also cause the player to be invisible.
Shadow Stone invisibility[]
There was a chance that when using a Shadow Stone (and Shadow Flopper) players became invisible when using them.
Shopping Cart[]
The Shopping Cart was the first Vehicle added to Battle Royale. It was notorious for being buggy. One of the bugs with the vehicle was to use a Minigun to propel the Shopping Cart.
