Objectives
Objectives[]
- In Retrieve the Data, players must locate the landing zone for a weather balloon, which is a red holo square.
- The weather balloon can be located by looking up in the sky.
- Players must interact with the zone to initiate the defense, which requires players to shoot the balloon down, if the landing timer hasn't concluded on its own.
- If uninterrupted, the balloon lands on its own, and the defense automatically begins when the Evac timer hits 3:00.
- The balloon's health scales with the power level of the mission.
- Once the objective has landed, players are required to defend it from Husks while it downloads a total of 16 files.
- Each file takes 30 seconds to download.
- At least 4 files must be successfully downloaded or the mission will fail at the end, even if the server has survived.
- Having the server being shredded is an immediate fail no matter how many files have been successfully downloaded.

Ray
You know how we're always coming up with gadgets to outsmart the storm?
Ray
Well... that started an arms race.
Ray
You know those rumors we've been hearing about an even more dangerous part of the storm?
Ray
A corrosive storm that closes in on you, eventually swallowing you alive?
Ray
Remember how I said that would never, ever, ever happen here?
Ray
It's happening here.
Ray
We need to retrieve the data, but this time we need to watch the storm.
Ray
Exposure to the storm will hurt you. A lot.
Ray
You'll take damage when you're in the storm, so keep an eye on your health.
Ray
We need to retrieve the data before we're overwhelmed by the storm.
Ray
So you'll want to move quickly.
Ray
We only have twenty minutes.
Ray
Keep an eye on the storm's movement on your map.
Player finds Landing Site[]
Ray
Landing site spotted. Nice find.
Ray finds Landing Site
Ray
I found the landing site! The location of the landing site has been added to your map.
Contd.
Ray
Any attacks from the storm's creatures could corrupt the data.
Ray
You'll want to build defenses around the balloon's landing site.
Timer hits 3:00 or Objective is started[]
Ray
The only way we're going to retrieve all of the data is to shoot the balloon down as soon as possible.
Ray
So bring down that balloon, download that data, and get ready to move!
Ray
The balloon has landed.
Ray
Defend that data!
Ray
File successfully retrieved.
Ray
Another file!
Ray
Data's lookin' good!
Ray
We lost a file!

Ray
These husks have no respect for data.
Ray
The storm wall's getting close!
Ray
You collected some of the files. Alright.

The data you collected will help us locate survivors and weak points in the storm.

You collected all of the files. Amazing!

Previous Versions
Previous Versions[]
- Before the introduction of Beta Storms, Retrieve the Data had some major differences:
- the no-build zone was a 2x2 square vertically up.
- Once the balloon landed, however, it became a 1x1x1 zone.
- The timer was only 18 minutes and it instead told you when the balloon would land rather than when the mission would end.
- At some point the timer was increased from 18 to 20 minutes, but it is not known when this change occurred.
- You only had to download 14 files instead of 16, these files still took 30 seconds to download, meaning the defense lasted 7 minutes instead of 8.
