Overview
The Meteor was an object that was first spotted in the sky during Season 3. struck Dusty Depot during Season 4 and returned as an unnamed POI located just above the Factories near Dusty Depot in Season X.
Meteors like this one, the one back in Season 4, and the one that would come in the Zero Crisis Finale are used as vehicles for The Seven.
History

Season 3[]
On March 20th 2018, a mysterious comet appeared in the sky. Just over a week later, on March 29th telescope camps began to emerge across the map, pointing toward the object. By April 18, the meteor began emitting a strange sound when observed through the scope of a gun. On April 24th a small campsite appeared atop a rooftop in Tilted Towers, complete with signs depicting a UFO and the ominous message "Today Tomorrow."
The next day, April 25th, was posted on Fortnite's official Twitter account. Simultaneously, television sets began broadcasting a test-pattern image featuring the silhouette of a Supply Llama, accompanied by a distorted and unintelligible audio signal. Then, on April 26th, meteors began raining down from the sky, crashing into buildings and trees, signaling that something far greater was on its way.
Season 4[]
The meteor struck Dusty Depot and Factory (turning them into Dusty Divot). Tilted Towers, Risky Reels, and other meteorites crashed near Fatal Fields, Junk Junction, Haunted Hills, Retail Row and the newly drive-in theatre Risky Reels. The Prison north of Moisty Mire was also hit by a meteor.
A mysterious unnamed investigation agency, dubbed by players as the Government, appeared and set up a laboratory in the center of the crater to study the strange meteor. After several weeks, they discovered a capsule inside, and The Visitor escaped from it. After this, research on the meteor was stopped and the laboratory was abandoned.
Season X[]
An alternate timeline version of the The Meteor returns in Season X, alongside Dusty Depot. However, it is frozen in time by the Zero Point. Inside the Meteor was a space capsule used by The Scientist.
During the The End, the meteor got activated by the rocket, but instead of bringing back Dusty Divot, it got sucked into a rift, and hit The Zero Point's forcefield at Loot Lake, causing everyone to be sent out of the island, and being sucked into the sphere itself. The meteor was also one of the causes for creating the new Battle Royale Island.
Chapter 2: Season 6[]
A smaller version of a Meteor returns in the Zero Crisis Finale after Agent Jones uses his portal device to summon it. It landed near Dusted Depot and in the meteor, was The Foundation. It was most likely destroyed by a Reality Wave.
Chapter 4: Season OG[]
The meteor returned again, similar to how its Season X counterpart did, but without Dusty Depot. For his plan, Jones used the meteor during The Big Bang, in a similar manner than The End but used the time machine to make it unstable and change the outcome. Instead of a Black Hole, a new Big Bang happened.
OG Chapter 1: Season 3[]
Like back in Season 3, a comet is approaching more and more the Island, exactly like before. While mostly everything is the same as before, a morse code is diffused on a TV at Tilted Towers, translating into "IT IS HAPPENING AG...". On May 30th 2025, meteors began raining down from the sky, just like in Chapter 1.
OG Chapter 1: Season 4[]
The meteor struck Dusty Depot and Factory again, turning them into Dusty Divot.
Chapter 7: Season 1[]
A smaller version of the Meteor can be found south of the Classified Canyon. It was used by The Order to land on the Golden Coast.

- In Season 3, a spectrographic analysis of the audio of the comet revealed a hidden image of the Take The L emote embedded within the spectrogram.
