The Speed Boost was a Device in Fortnite: Creative, added in Update v7.00 and then was merged with the Movement Modulator in Update v23.00. It was later re-added in the consumables tab as a regular trap without settings.

Function

This device will give players and vehicles a short boost in whatever direction it is facing. It can be placed on floors, ramps, and walls.

Trap ID

The Speed Boost is referred to as Context SpeedBoost in the files.

UEFN also has a separate version which can only be placed on walls.

History

Update v7.00: Introduced the Speed Boost with the launch of Fortnite: Creative.

Update v26.30: Removed the Speed Boost as its functionality has been merged with the prop version of the Movement Modifier.

Update v27.00: Re-added the Rare version to the consumables tab.
- Also introduced new Uncommon and Epic rarities.
- These new rarities represent the distance the player is boosted, with Uncommon being the lowest and Epic being the highest.
