Overview[]

Oro is a cryptic character who was known as both a king and a pirate during his lifetime in Reality: UN-5 in the Lost Isles. He is now a spirit cursed by the entity known as Sol,^[2] wandering to protect his treasures. Oro has an inherent connection to Midas, which is still difficult to truly uncover, due to the fact that they were often mistaken for each other following an incident during Chapter 2 where Oro seems to have possessed Midas' body^[3] after the latter obtained his cursed scepter.^[4] When seemingly possessed by Oro, Midas apparently sought revenge again something or someone,^[5] however it's unknown who was in control of the body.

Oro is portrayed as a greedy king obsessed with gold and revenge.

Appearance[]

When first introduced, the Golden King was depicted as a golden material skeleton with a deformed face impossible for a human. His form resembled Charon in every way. However, a scar could be found on his face, identical to the one Midas bears. His clothes have the red pattern of Sol.

After returning to his home reality, Oro's appearance drastically changed. His clothes and equipment were modernized, his lower jaw, formerly made of gold, was replaced by an identical version, but in silver. Additionally, his eyes now feature a flame inside them, while the scar on his right eye has completely disappeared. Finally, his crown has now changed, differentiating itself from that of his previous appearance and Charon and now floats above his head.

Powers and Abilities[]

Sol's Curse
	Spirit Physiology Based on the feat of his queen, Orelia, Oro is an immaterial spirit capable of taking possession of objects and people, and altering their appearance at will.[7] Oro seems to have once taken Midas's body.[3]

History[]

Oro along with Orelia was once a pirate king of the Lost Isles, and gathered treasures. At some point he and Orelia were cursed by Sol, and both became spirits.

Before Chapter 2[]

Oro's scepter ended in the hands of Midas, the latter having drawn this scepter in his journal.

Chapter 2: Season 2[]

Oro awakened, and seemingly took Midas' body^[3]—taking an appearance similar to Charon and receiving a scar similar to Midas's own. After unspecified events, Oro seemingly disappeared.

Chapter 4: Season 4[]

Kado Thorne traveled back in time with his Time Machine in 2020 03 25 time period (somewhere around Awaken Oro Event). Thorne killed the Oro of this timeline—virtually identical to his original counterpart—decapitating his head before taking it with him back to the present time. This created a Timeline where Oro died.

LEGO Fortnite:Odyssey[]

At some unknown point in time, Oro arrived in Reality: UN-85, either alongside his home Reality: Lost Isles, or before alongisde other former inhabitants of Reality Zero. This time, his appearance was completely different, suggesting that he had changed bodies. Wishing to regain his lost wealth, he and his followers began to plunder the Lost Isles.

Lore Trivia[]

• There has been much confusion over Oro's identity, as many believed he was Midas himself, or a hypothetical mythological Midas that the current one would have usurped.
  • In Chapter 2: Season 2, during Awaken Oro Event, Oro was introduced. When this event started, The Agency's Golden hand turned into Oro's. The outfit's set was also Midas' Revenge, while news feeds indicated Oro was the one seeking revenge, all this information implied they were the same person or that one usurped the other.
    • Later in the season, once Midas' room in The Hideout was revealed, Oro's scepter could be found inside, as well as in his journal, drawn on the same pages as The Device and GHOST/Storm logo.
  • In Chapter 5: Season 2, during Rise of Midas Event Midas revealed he was the original King Midas, thus disproving the theory that Oro was the original King Midas, from whom Midas stole his powers.
    • Still during Rise of Midas Event, Oro was in the Shop alongside Ascendant Midas for the whole event, implying he and Midas were the "same person".
  • In Chapter 6: Season 2, it was revealed that Oro was actually an inhabitant of the Lost Isles, as well as one of its former pirate kings, confirming him as a different person from Midas himself. He also drastically changed his appearance, even losing his scar.
    • However, during Chapter 4: Season 3 Snapshots Quests, Orelia showed the ability to possess objects (Chalice of Cubetastrophe) and people (The Looper), altering their appearances in the process. This imply that the original Oro outfit, was Oro when possessing Midas' body, explaining why Agency's Hand turned into Oro's and why they were once implied to be the "same person".
• Oro and Midas shares the same title of Golden King, even after complete separation. The reason for this is unknown.
• As demonstrated in LEGO Fortnite with his Studio, Oro is a painter and a sculptor.
