The Visitor Tapes were collectible voice recordings in Season X.
Overview
Overview[]
The Visitor Tapes, contrary to what their name would have people believe, were created by The Scientist, the second member of The Seven introduced in Fortnite: Battle Royale. In those, he cryptically described The Seven's plan to contain the Zero Point and introduced The Loop, Loopers, The Bridge and the Imagined Order (at the time known as "They"). These recordings were intended to help him remember his mission when he went into The Loop, which would potentially have deprived him of his memories, while he needed to activate a certain device instead.

| What the Seven of us are attempting is very risky. I suspect They are not the only ones watching. But it must be done or we lose the Bridge forever. | |
| I speculate that no one calculated the formation of the island. That interdimensional matter collisions would resolve rather than push. Now that I witness it first hand, it's obvious that pinching alone made it inevitable.[Note 1] | |
| When I hear this again, will it help me remember? Or once Looped will I be just as muted as the others? No matter - it seems the lengthy precautions worked.[Note 2] | |
| The (unintelligible) theorem was a success! I... us... you arrived outside the loop at the exact moment of expansion. This effectively paused the singularity, giving us time to create the devices needed to synchronize the Junction.[Note 3] | |
| What I didn't factor is that the only way to trigger the device was from within the Loop itself. Thus this hasty and primitive recording. And why now you... I find myself Looped. | |
| Activate the beacon at precisely the moment this timer reaches nothing. The Zero Point must be contained once more. If They are correct, it will be the end. |
Trivia
Trivia[]
- As their name suggests, these Tapes were supposed to come from The Visitor, as The Scientist and The Visitor were originally intended to be the same person. However, this was changed midway through Season X by Donald Mustard, shortly before the release of The Scientist Outfit. The Tapes were never renamed, however.
- At the end of The End (Chapter 1), The Scientist used numbers designating words from the Tapes to create the following message "I was not alone. Others were outside the loop. This was not calculated. The Nothing is now inevitable," see The Blackout for more details.
- The third paragraph implies that the island has memory-draining powers, as seen in the "Nexus War" comics, and the tapes were created so that the Visitor can regain his memories and piece together what his mission was.
- The Scientist had a different voice actor in these tapes compared to his later appearances, being voiced by JB Blanc in his Season X appearance, and Joel McHale from The End (Chapter 2) and onwards.
- After the direct revelations about The Loop and everything surrounding it in Chapters 2 and 3, some elements of The Tapes are inconsistent and make absolutely no sense.
- The Seven are equipped with armor protecting them from the effects of The Loop thanks to their sealed environment, so The Scientist would never have lost his memories.
- The Scientist discusses The Seven's potential loss of The Bridge, even though it has always been owned by the Imagined Order. The Seven's intention was even to destroy The Bridge by liberating The Zero Point and destroying The Loop.
- At this period, The Seven were only 6 as The Paradigm was captured by the Imagined Order and forced to fight The Devourer during Season 9 before going to The Ice Moon and be left for dead there.
- Some mistranslations in several languages said that The Scientist was trapped in The Loop before arriving Outside, stopping the Zero Point. This is impossible, since The Scientist himself was inside a Meteor and was rifted by The Zero Point.

- ↑ The Scientist mentions that no one has calculated the current configuration/arrangement of an "island" - it's either referring to Athena, adding that interdimensional matter collisions aren't supposed to move matter, but resolve it, correct it, likely referring to World Collide. The second part remains incomprehensible.
- ↑ The Loop may drains his memory and mute him. The tapes will help him remember his plan in case he forgets.
- ↑ The moment The Zero Point exploded, The Scientist arrived in the Extra Loop with his Meteor, generating a temporal freeze of the Zero Point explosion.
