The Hydraulic Pickaxe is an Rare and Epic Pickaxe in Fortnite: Save the World, that was introduced in Online Test 4.

The Hydraulic Pickaxe functions as a harvesting tool used to damage objects for resources. When the damaging an object, a Weak Point can form on the object which can then be hit to deal additional damage.

  • The Hydraulic Pickaxe damage is dependent on what is being hit and the "team" it's on relative to the player:
    • 100% damage to hostile and neutral objectives and props (I.E. trees, rocks, and cars), but 50% damage to friendly objectives and props.
    • 70% damage to hostile and neutral players[unused] and enemies, but 35% damage to friendly players[unused] and enemies.
    • 140% damage to hostile and neutral Weak Points, but 70% damage to friendly Weak Points
    • 200% damage to hostile and neutral prop Weak Points, but 100% damage to friendly prop Weak Points
      • Props refer to objects and structures, such as trees (wooden props), rocks (stone props), and cars (metal props)
  • The Hydraulic Pickaxe range is dependent on what is being hit:
    • 2.96m range for enemies
    • 2.88m range for buildings on the xy axix
    • 3.84m range for buildings on the z axis
    • 4m range for Weak Points

Trivia[]

  • The Hydraulic Mining Pickaxe model can be seen in the video, Welcome to Online Test 2!, but it's unconfirmed if that was the Hydraulic Mining Pickaxe or the Vindertech Pickaxe.
  • Prior to Online Test 6, pickaxes would lose durability when used and could be crafted[3]. This includes the following: Handmade Pickaxe, Pickaxe, Mining Pickaxe, Hydraulic Pickaxe, Vindertech Pickaxe, and all upgraded variants. Although the schematics were removed before Online Test 6.5, durability still exists internally (being 125 and 220) but is never depleted.
  • In Online Test 6.5, the Hydraulic Pickaxe was tied to two ability kits, "Kit_HarvestWeapon_T07" and Kit_HarvestWeapon_T08[Upgraded], which were removed between Online Test 6.5 and Update v1.0.
  • In Cert-CL-3532353, the Hydraulic Pickaxe [Upgraded] model from Online Test 11 was reused for the Laser Pickaxe.
