Overview
Weak Points is a gameplay mechanic in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It appears as a red dot inside a blue circle, helping players break structures faster and more efficiently.
Functionality
Functionality[]
Weak Points appear as red dots inside blue circles. They appear when a player hits a structure with a harvesting tool, and disappear after a few seconds. Weak Points allow players to do 100 damage to structures instead of the regular 50 damage, allowing them to harvest materials faster. Players cannot use weapons or object to prompt weak points to appear.
For structures that take one harvesting tool swing to be destroyed, weak points will not appear when they are hit with a harvesting tool. For structures that take two harvesting tool swings to be destroyed, weak points will appear after the first hit, but there is no use trying to hit the weak point.
To hit a weak point, a player have their crosshair on the blue circle or red dot and must hit it with their harvesting tool. Weak points move on the structure after being hit by a player, so for structures that have a large quantity of health points, it may be hard to hit all the weak points consecutively because of their movement.
If objects are big enough, like cargo shipments (ones like those that appear in Dirty Docks), a weak point may move to the opposite side of the object. All one must do to hit that weak point is line up their crosshair with the blue circle or red dot, and use the harvesting tool.
XP may be gained from hitting weak points consecutively without fail on an object.
They also seem to play a musical scale when hit consecutively.
