Guard Spawner

Overview

The Guard Spawner is a Device in Fortnite: Creative, added in Update v19.40.

You can give a custom weapon for the Guard to use by simply dropping a Guard Weapon on the device.

General
Option Value Description
Guard Type Shadow, Ghost, Grotto, Shark, Rig, Kit, IO, Trespasser, Random The type of Guard that will be spawned by this device.
Spawn Count 4, 1 - 20 Sets the number of guards this device can have active at any time. When the spawner activates, it will produce one Guard at a time. Islands can have a maximum of 30 Guard spawned at a time across all devices.
Allow Infinite Spawns Yes, No Determines whether the spawner has a total spawn limit or not.
Total Spawn Limit1 1 - 100 Sets the maximum number of Guards this spawner can produce during its lifetime.
Character Cosmetics Dont Override, various Outfits Determines which character skin the Guard Spawner is using.
Guard Team Option Team Index, Team Wildlife & Creatures, Team Neutral Determines in which Team the Guard will be assigned to.
Guard Team Index2 1 - 100 Determines in which Team the Guard will be assigned to.
Spawn on Timer On, Off Determines whether the Guard is spawned on the Spawn Timer countdown, or spawn on events.
Spawn Timer3 3s, 1s - 300s Sets the minimum time between spawning Guards. Setting this to "0" will spawn as quickly as possible but is capped by performance limit.
Spawn Through Walls On, Off Determines whether this A.I. must spawn within line of sight of the Spawner or if hey can spawn behind obstructing walls.
Show Spawn Radius4 On, Off Determines if we should show a preview cylinder of the spawn radius when in Edit mode.
Spawn Radius4 10M, 1M - 50M The maximum distance from the device that a Guard can spawn.
Use Device Spawn Location On, Off Whether the Guard should spawn on the device location instead of using Spawn Radius. This option won't work if the Guard is supposed to spawn on a Patrol Path node it spawned on.
Use Device Spawn Rotation On, Off Whether the Guard's spawning orientation should match the orientation of the Guard Spawner Device or Patrol Path Group.
Play Spawn Visual Effect On, Off Determines whether the Spawn visual effect is played when the Guard is spawned.
Enabled at Game Start Enabled, Disabled Determines whether the spawner is already enabled when the game starts.
Invulnerable On, Off Determines where the Guards spawned by by this device is damageable or not.
Starting Health5 100, 1 - 10000 Sets the Guard's starting health value.
Max Health5 100, 1 - 10000, Sets the Guard's maximum health value.
Starting Shield No Shield, 1 - 1000 Sets the Guard's starting shield value.
Max Shield No Shield, 1 - 1000 Sets the Guard's maximum shield value.
Show Health Bar Yes, No Display the health bar above Guards.
Enable Patrol On, Off Whether the Guard patrols around or stays in place.
Max Patrol Distance6 10M, 2.5M - 200M Sets the Guard's maximum patrol distance from the spawner.
Patrol Path Group6 Group None, Ground 1 - Ground 100 Will spawn Guards on a selected Patrol Path Group.
Visibility Range 40M, 0M - 250M Sets the Guard's maximum sight perception distance when unaware. Adjust 'Visibility Range Restriction' to affect vision when Guard is unaware or always. Hearing is not affected.
Visibility Range Restrictions Only When Unaware, Always Change the scope of application of Guard Visibility Range
Team Awareness Propagation Yes, No If a Team is set, Guards will propagate awareness to their teammates.
Drop Inventory On Elimination Yes, No Whether the Guard drops his inventory on elimination.
Accuracy Low, Moderate, High, Very High Define how accurate Guards are at shooting.
Despawn Guards when Disabled Yes, No When the device is disabled, this determines whether already spawned guards remain or are despawn
Can Be Hired Yes, No Whether this Guard can be hired or not?
Allow Hire Conversation7 Yes, No Whether to allow hiring conversation or not. Set to No will only allow guards to be hired or dismissed through signals.
Hired Guard Name7 {Custom Name} (16 Character Max) Optional name the Guard can have in the 'Hire a Guard' conversation
Maximum Hired Guards7 Default, 1, 2, 3 Determines the limit of Guards from this device that a player can hire in game. Default means applying the same option set in the island settings. The hire limit on device won't be larger than the island setting limit.
Auto Hire When Spawned7 Dont Override, Last Hiring Player, Triggering Player Determine if the newly spawned Guard will be automatically Hired to the last hiring player, triggering player who triggers the spawn signal or not.
Restore Health & Shield when Hired7 Yes, No Determines if Guard's health and shield will restore to the default value if they have been damaged before being hired.
Despawn when Dismissed7 Yes, No Determine if the hired Guard should be automatically despawned when dismissed or not.
Can be Given Commands7 Yes, No Determine if Guard can be given commands or not
Use Alertness On, Off Whether the Guard displays its awareness level over his head.
  • 1 - Option only visible when Allow Infinite Respawns is set to No.
  • 2 - Option only visible when Guard Team Option is set to Team Index.
  • 3 - Option only visible when Spawn on Timer is set to On.
  • 4 - Option only visible when Use Device Spawn Location is set to Off.
  • 5 - Option only visible when Invulnerable is set to On.
  • 5 - Option only visible when Enable Patrol is set to On.
  • 7 - Option only visible when Can Be Hired is set to Yes.
