Team up and use your super-powers to capture and defend outposts in a mighty battle for control of the Island.
— In-Game Description

Marvel Takeover is a Limited Time Mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale that replaced Marvel Standoff on September 23rd 2020 at 9:00 PM EST. It is a respawn mode focused on attacking and defending 'reactors' which progress a percentage bar until victory.

Gameplay

Gameplay[]

Marvel Takeover works very similar to Battlefield's Conquest game mode, in which two teams fight against each other to capture objectives to complete a progress bar before the other, except this mode counts upwards, and not down.

The game starts with two teams of 15, and both drop from the same Battle Bus. Players start with a Primary Superpower attack, and can locate other superpowers which fall from the sky as the match progresses. Both teams must fight to capture reactors, which are large platforms which cannot be built upon (but can be built around), that have two Launch Pads on each horizontal side. The reactor can be captured by having no enemy players on it, and having at least one team member on it. Once captured, it will slowly count progress towards a team's progress bar out of 100 percent.

The storm is constantly moving in this mode, and reactors will disable as they enter the storm, and enable once they exit it. The storm goes in a giant loop around a portion of the map until the game ends. Once one team reaches 100% on the percentage bar, the game ends and that team is declared the winner.

Weaponry and Items[]

  • There are no standard weapon or item pickups, and every drop is a superpower, which spawns from different meteors which then mark the power on the map.
  • Every player spawns with a Primary Superpower.

Changes from Team Rumble[]

  • There are no weapons or items, only superpowers to be picked up or swapped out.
  • The Storm moves constantly and at a very high damage.
