| “ | Get ready to fall for a new 3v3 arcade sport when Fall Guys Crown Jam hits Fortnite. From January 22 to February 9, this isn’t the Fall Guys in Fortnite you’re used to — it’s all about getting slam dunks on the other team’s side of the arena. It’s basketball… meets football… meets obstacle course chaos.

Fall Guys Crown Jam was a Fall Guys Limited Time Mode in Fortnite that was introduced in Update v39.30.
Gameplay
Gameplay[]
Fall Guys Crown Jam pits the Fall Guys Beans in a 3-on-3 arcade sports game, described as a basketball-American football hybrid. Teams win by:
- Having more points than the opposing team at the end of the 5-minute regulation period.
- Gaining a lead of 4 points at any time.
- Scoring in overtime (if the game is tied at the end of regulation).
- Making every member of the opposing team disconnect from the match.
Before the game starts, players will be put on one of the default teams: Ponycorn Stampede, Fallhalla Longboats, Plunderdome Pirates, Bean City Birds, Windy Wood Howlers, Dunktown Dinos.
When the game starts, the Crown Ball will spawn in the middle of the arena. Players must earn points by passing the ball through the opposing teams' hoop, either by throwing it or dunking it in. At the same time, they must also prevent the opposing team from scoring points on their hoop by tackling the ball handler or intercepting their passes.
The Beans' physics are altered from standard Fall Guys gameplay, featuring smoother movement and the ability to double jump. Running down a slope gives a player Momentum, making them run across the field faster (visible by a smoke trail behind the character). If a player runs down two sets of slopes, their Momentum increases making them even faster (showing speed lines onscreen). Momentum is kept for a short period, even when running up slopes.
Hype Abilities[]
Before the start of each game, players choose their power-ups, called "Hype Abilities". Players gain Hype over time during matches, but they can boost their progress by scoring, assisting with scoring, or playing defense by tackling opponents. When the Hype meter is full, players can use their selected Hype ability.
- Big Bean - The player is enlarged, making it easier to tackle opponents and harder for themselves to be tackled.
- Bounce Pad - A bounce pad spawns near the player, which they can use to leap across the map, and they can initiate a mid-air tackle as they land.
- Confetti Crash - Fires a homing projectile towards a targeted opponent that can force the ball out of the ball handler's possession.
Strategy
Strategy[]
|
This section outlines a strategy. |
| Feel free to add tips, tricks and general advice about the topic. |
Offense[]
- Use slopes to gain Momentum and get across the field faster.
- As the ball handler...
- If you are wide open, it is more reliable to dunk rather than shoot the ball to score points.
- If you are being surrounded by defenders, it's better to throw the ball away rather than hold on to it and get tackled, potentially causing a turnover.
- Use the Big Bean ability to get yourself into scoring position for a dunk.
- If you don't have the ball...
- Try to break off from the action and cut straight to the basket to get within scoring position, allowing a wide-open pass from the ball handler to you for an easy point.
- It is important to create separation for your ball handler by tackling defenders so that they can drive to the hoop to score.
Defense[]
- When an opponent is going for a dunk, perform a double jump to gain enough height before executing a tackle at the right time to block the ball from going in.
- If your team recently scored a point, the opponents will have the ball on their side of the field to kickoff the next phase of the game. Never go straight to them, as this can create mismatches for their offense to exploit and score on. Instead, stay within your side of the field and anticipate a pass to the player closest to the hoop.
- The Big Bean ability will make it so that the only players that are able to tackle you are those who are also embiggened with the Big Bean ability. When an opponent uses their Big Bean ability at the hoop, counter them by using your own Big Bean ability and knock the ball away.
- The Confetti Crash ability is an excellent defensive tool that can disrupt an offensive push to the basket by forcing the ball handler to fumble the ball, opening a window for your defense to recover the ball.
- If your team regains possession of the ball near your hoop, immediately shoot it back out to the middle of the field to reset the pace of the game.
