The LEGO Group x Epic Games - Promo - Fortnite

On April 7th, 2022, The LEGO Group and Epic Games announced that they were entering a long-term partnership "to shape the future of the metaverse to make it safe and fun for children and families".[1][2]

They agreed to three principles in order to ensure the digital spaces they develop deliver engaging play opportunities safely:

  • Protect children’s right to play by making safety and wellbeing a priority.
  • Safeguard children’s privacy by putting their best interests first.
  • Empower children and adults with tools that give them control over their digital experience.

So far, the partnership has resulted in various digital play experiences within Fortnite, as well as giving creators the ability to create their own LEGO Islands within Creative and UEFN.[3]

LEGO Fortnite Odyssey - a survival crafting game within Fortnite - was the first play experience to come from the partnership[5], released on December 7th, 2023. Within it, players can:

  • Play as some of their favorite Fortnite characters, like Brite Bomber, Cuddle Team Leader and Raven - but in LEGO Style.
  • Collect food and resources, craft items, and battle enemies solo or with friends.
  • Build shelter for defense and customize their ultimate home base, then recruit villagers to gather materials and help them survive the night.
  • Gear up and drop into deep caves in search of rare resources, hidden areas and enemies.

LEGO Fortnite has received consistent updates since its release, in line with Fortnite's other game modes, including new gameplay features, such as fishing and mechanical building and more LEGO Style Outfits.

LEGO Fortnite Brick Life is a social roleplay game - and the second experience to come out of the partnership between The LEGO Group and Fortnite. It released on December 12th, 2024. The gameplay contains the following elements:

  • LEGO Styles carry over from LEGO Fortnite: Odyssey and other LEGO Fortnite experiences, allowing users to continue playing as their favorites.
  • Take up various jobs throughout the city of Brick Bay - completing tasks, and earning credits to spend on various causes.
  • Interact with the residents scattered across Brick Bay - including other players through the newly refurbished Text Chat.
  • Choose a house from a selection of various models - including those owned from in-game LEGO Builds - and place it near or within the city. Players can use theirs credits to customize the inside of their home, or purchase a different model to place down.

LEGO Fortnite: Brick Life continues to receive consistent updates, each progressing the map and the areas within.

LEGO Islands are custom Fortnite islands, built in Unreal Editor for Fortnite, that feature a combination of LEGO content and classic Fortnite content.

Several LEGO Islands have been published by @thelegogroup.

LEGO®_Elements_and_LEGO_Styles_come_to_Fortnite_Creative_and_UEFN LEGO Island Templates - Promo - Fortnite

On March 20th 2024, the State of Unreal keynote announced that all members of the Island Creator Program could start building their own LEGO Islands using LEGO brand templates, props, consumables and items.[8]
