Close the Gate

Close the Gate is a type of mission in Fortnite: Save the World that requires players to defend an ATLAS against hordes of Monsters.

Close the Gate was only available during Fortnite's Online Tests. The Mission was modified and ultimately renamed to Fight the Storm upon release of Early Access.

A Gate must be found in the zone. Once it has been found, an ATLAS must be deployed. Upon Deploying the ATLAS, the player(s) must fortify the device before activating the ATLAS. The ATLAS must be defended until the gate has been closed.

  • Close the Gate was renamed to Fight the Storm upon Early Access Release in 2017; however, there would be no gate to close, rather, the ATLAS would kill off the storm in the zone.
